9:30 AM - 10:45 AM    Vinyasa Flow Yoga - Vinyasa Flow Yoga (Mondays)
This is a fun & light-hearted vinyasa style yoga class that links breath (pranayama) with movement (asanas), flowing through a series of yoga poses to increase strength, flexibility, balance, vitality & detoxification. This practice will incorporate vinyasa flow and posture alignment, while remaining aware of the importance of your breath and core strength. Gain inner awareness, shift mind/body habits & find contentment in your practice. All levels welcome. Please bring a mat, blanket & water. Instructor:  Julie Erasmus, Certified Yoga Instructor. Leslie Gordon, Certified Yoga Instructor, will be occasionally teaching in June.You may drop-in to a Yoga class for $13. This three day camp features a series of action-packed drills and games designed to push your game to the next level. The camp will focus on creating more depth, pace and consistency on groundstrokes and serves, as well as proper court positioning and shot selection during competitive play. Classes are held Tuesday thru Thursday at Simsbury Farms.

Simsbury Spinners Baton Twirling Teams - Winter/Spring 2019Team Twirling Program Description:The Simsbury Spinners Recreation Twirling Program is designed to provide all students the opportunity to advance their twirling and performance skills in a fun and non-competitive atmosphere. All twirlers are encouraged to strive for their personal best The Team Twirling program runs from September through June.  Registration is completed twice throughout the school year.   Twirlers are encouraged to twirl the entire school year to fully benefit from the once per week instructional format and enjoy the multiple performance opportunities scheduled. Registration will occur in September for Fall Session (Sept.-Nov/Dec) and then again in January for the Winter/Spring Session (Jan-June). Team placement:Entry level twirlers who are in K-2nd grade will begin on the Crystal Team, entry level twirlers in grades 3rd-6th will begin on the Emerald Team and will practice on Tuesday days. Jr Twirlers (5th -8th grade) will also practice on Tuesday.  Twirlers with 2 or more years of twirling with the Spinners will be place on Teams with twirlers with similar skill levels and age.  As always, Colleen Tighe is available to discuss individual twirlers placement and progress at any time. Schedule: This year's team classes will be taught at Boy Scout Hall (Tuesday Teams) and Henry James Memorial School-back gym (Friday Teams). This is a fun & light-hearted vinyasa style yoga class that links breath (pranayama) with movement (asanas), flowing through a series of yoga poses to increase strength, flexibility, balance, vitality & detoxification. This practice will incorporate vinyasa flow and posture alignment, while remaining aware of the importance of your breath and core strength. This is a fun & light-hearted vinyasa style yoga class that links breath (pranayama) with movement (asanas), flowing through a series of yoga poses to increase strength, flexibility, balance, vitality & detoxification. This practice will incorporate vinyasa flow and posture alignment, while remaining aware of the importance of your breath and core strength. Team placement:Entry level twirlers who are in K-2nd grade will begin on the Crystal Team, entry level twirlers in grades 3rd-6th will begin on the Emerald Team and will practice on Tuesday days. This is a fun & light-hearted vinyasa style yoga class that links breath (pranayama) with movement (asanas), flowing through a series of yoga poses to increase strength, flexibility, balance, vitality & detoxification. This practice will incorporate vinyasa flow and posture alignment, while remaining aware of the importance of your breath and core strength. Gain inner awareness, shift mind/body habits & find contentment in your practice. All levels welcome. Please bring a mat, blanket & water. Instructor:  Julie Erasmus, Certified Yoga Instructor. Simsbury Spinners Baton Twirling Teams - Winter/Spring 2019Team Twirling Program Description:The Simsbury Spinners Recreation Twirling Program is designed to provide all students the opportunity to advance their twirling and performance skills in a fun and non-competitive atmosphere. All twirlers are encouraged to strive for their personal best The Team Twirling program runs from September through June.  Registration is completed twice throughout the school year.   Twirlers are encouraged to twirl the entire school year to fully benefit from the once per week instructional format and enjoy the multiple performance opportunities scheduled. Registration will occur in September for Fall Session (Sept.-Nov/Dec) and then again in January for the Winter/Spring Session (Jan-June). Team placement:Entry level twirlers who are in K-2nd grade will begin on the Crystal Team, entry level twirlers in grades 3rd-6th will begin on the Emerald Team and will practice on Tuesday days. Jr Twirlers (5th -8th grade) will also practice on Tuesday.  Twirlers with 2 or more years of twirling with the Spinners will be place on Teams with twirlers with similar skill levels and age.  As always, Colleen Tighe is available to discuss individual twirlers placement and progress at any time. Schedule: This year's team classes will be taught at Boy Scout Hall (Tuesday Teams) and Henry James Memorial School-back gym (Friday Teams). There will be no classes on Simsbury School Holidays, Vacations or Snow Days. 7:30 AM - 9:45 AM    Lifeguard Training - Lifeguard Training
This is the Red Cross blended learning course to become a Lifeguard. It will consist of a 7 hour online course as well as a 20 hour in person training session. The online course must be completed before the start of the course. This can be completed in one or multiple sessions. At the end of the online portion of the course, each participant will receive a confirmation email. A copy of this email must be brought to the first day of the in-person course. Link to the online program can be found below, under Program Links.Prerequisites: 1: 300 yard continuous swim using either front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of front crawl and breaststroke 2: Tread water for 2 minutes with your legs only 3: Timed Event: 1 minute; 40 seconds: Swim 20 yards using front crawl or breaststroke, retrieve a 10 pound object, return to the surface, and swim 20 yards back to the starting point with object  4: Feet first or Head first surface dive to a depth of 7-10 feet and retrieve a 10-pound object. This course is held at Simsbury Farms and student must be 15 by the end of class. This class meets four days a week - Mon, Tue, Thur, and Fri. There are no classes on Wednesday mornings. Student must attend 80% of classes.

At the Trojan Baseball Camp, each player will experience hands-on instruction. We concentrate on the game's fundamentals as well as the values of hard work, persistence, preparation, teamwork and sportsmanship. We offer professional and individualized instruction at every position. All campers will be kept within their own age and ability bracket. Games are played daily at each level. Session 1: June 17-20 (Camp will run Monday-Thursday)Session 2: August 12-15 (Camp will run Monday-Thursday)Both camps ages 6-12. $176. Sign up a sibling and they can come for only $137.50 (each sibling registration from the same family)! Register by May 31st and save even more - $160 for your first camper and $125 for each sibling.   Both camps will be held at Simsbury High School.Pitching Instruction: A supplement to the Trojan Baseball Camp, for players who have an interest in pitching. Special instruction, proper pitching mechanics, wind-up, stretch, long tossing, different pitches and grips, pick off moves, fielding from pitchers position and arm strengthening are the focus of the week. 8:15-8:55am prior to the camp, $55 per week.

This outdoor day camp includes a wide variety of sports, arts, crafts, group games, free play, and special events. One field trip or special event is included per session. Campers will be divided into groups according to age. The camp meets rain or shine at ***CENTRAL SCHOOL *** from 8:30AM-4:00PM and will use the pool facilities at Memorial Park for free swim. Campers must provide their own lunch, 2 snacks, water and transportation to and from camp. Participants must be in grades K-6 during the 2019-2020 school year, or ages 5-12 by December 31, 2019. There will be no swimming lesson included in the camp cost. However, an optional swimming lesson can be added on. Please see below for more details.Fee: $193/camper per session. Swimming lessons can be added on for $15 - there is a max of 30 campers for the camp lessons, so you must register early. Please see detailed notes below. These classes include a progression of exercises using the water's resistance to tone up and firm without a strain. Participants need not be swimmers, but must be comfortable in the water. The program runs 8 weeks at Simsbury Farms beginning June 17. Classes are held on Monday/Wednesday/Friday from 11:00-11:45.Class is taught by Certified Group Exercise Instructor Jen Lehman.Full 8-week series: $90

The Simsbury Farms Dive Team is a 7 week summer program beginning June 25th, featuring practice Monday-Friday from 11:00-11:45am and dive team meets. Participants must have passed Beginner Diving Class. The fee is $100.

This outdoor day camp includes a wide variety of sports, arts, crafts, group games, free play, and special events. One field trip or special event is included per session. Campers will be divided into groups according to age. The camp meets rain or shine at ***CENTRAL SCHOOL *** from 8:30AM-4:00PM and will use the pool facilities at Memorial Park for free swim. Campers must provide their own lunch, 2 snacks, water and transportation to and from camp. Participants must be in grades K-6 during the 2019-2020 school year, or ages 5-12 by December 31, 2019. There will be no swimming lesson included in the camp cost. However, an optional swimming lesson can be added on. Please see below for more details.Fee: $193/camper per session. Swimming lessons can be added on for $15 - there is a max of 30 campers for the camp lessons, so you must register early. Please see detailed notes below. Tennis Apprentice is a 4 week, fun-filled program designed to get beginner and advanced beginner participants playing actual "tennis".  Early emphasis is on the ability "to rally" and control the ball rather than stroke technique.  The program incorporates use of low compression balls and 60 foot courts in certain drills to speed the process along.  We will make you a tennis player in no time!!!

7:30 AM - 9:45 AM    Lifeguard Training - Lifeguard Training
This is the Red Cross blended learning course to become a Lifeguard. It will consist of a 7 hour online course as well as a 20 hour in person training session. The online course must be completed before the start of the course. This can be completed in one or multiple sessions. At the end of the online portion of the course, each participant will receive a confirmation email. A copy of this email must be brought to the first day of the in-person course. Link to the online program can be found below, under Program Links.Prerequisites: 1: 300 yard continuous swim using either front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of front crawl and breaststroke 2: Tread water for 2 minutes with your legs only 3: Timed Event: 1 minute; 40 seconds: Swim 20 yards using front crawl or breaststroke, retrieve a 10 pound object, return to the surface, and swim 20 yards back to the starting point with object  4: Feet first or Head first surface dive to a depth of 7-10 feet and retrieve a 10-pound object. This course is held at Simsbury Farms and student must be 15 by the end of class. This class meets four days a week - Mon, Tue, Thur, and Fri. There are no classes on Wednesday mornings. Student must attend 80% of classes.

At the Trojan Baseball Camp, each player will experience hands-on instruction. We concentrate on the game's fundamentals as well as the values of hard work, persistence, preparation, teamwork and sportsmanship. We offer professional and individualized instruction at every position. All campers will be kept within their own age and ability bracket. Games are played daily at each level. Session 1: June 17-20 (Camp will run Monday-Thursday)Session 2: August 12-15 (Camp will run Monday-Thursday)Both camps ages 6-12. $176. Sign up a sibling and they can come for only $137.50 (each sibling registration from the same family)! 11:00 AM - 11:45 AM    Aqua Tone - Aqua Tone MWF
These classes include a progression of exercises using the water's resistance to tone up and firm without a strain. Participants need not be swimmers, but must be comfortable in the water. The program runs 8 weeks at Simsbury Farms beginning June 17. Classes are held on Monday/Wednesday/Friday from 11:00-11:45.Class is taught by Certified Group Exercise Instructor Jen Lehman.Full 8-week series: $90

The Simsbury Farms Dive Team is a 7 week summer program beginning June 25th, featuring practice Monday-Friday from 11:00-11:45am and dive team meets. Participants must have passed Beginner Diving Class. The fee is $100.
 
3:15 PM - 3:45 PM    Summer Explorers - Summer Explorers Swimming Lessons - Session 1
This outdoor day camp includes a wide variety of sports, arts, crafts, group games, free play, and special events. One field trip or special event is included per session. Campers will be divided into groups according to age. The camp meets rain or shine at ***CENTRAL SCHOOL *** from 8:30AM-4:00PM and will use the pool facilities at Memorial Park for free swim. Campers must provide their own lunch, 2 snacks, water and transportation to and from camp. Participants must be in grades K-6 during the 2019-2020 school year, or ages 5-12 by December 31, 2019. There will be no swimming lesson included in the camp cost. However, an optional swimming lesson can be added on. Please see below for more details.Fee: $193/camper per session. Swimming lessons can be added on for $15 - there is a max of 30 campers for the camp lessons, so you must register early. Please see detailed notes below. Register before June 1st and save 10% on the camp cost (cost will be $175)! (Swimming lessons not included in discount)Registration for camps closes Sunday evenings at 8:00pm a week before a camp session is set to begin. This allows us time to put together groups. Please register accordingly.Group information will be available on www.simsburyrec.com by the Wednesday before a session begins. Please check there to see which group your child will be in.NO INFORMATION WILL BE MAILED OUT THIS SUMMER.Emails regarding weather cancellations or changes will be sent to the parents who have "opted in" to receive our "cancellation" emails. **** Sessions 4-8 & ALL camp swimming lessons are currently full. Please place your child on the free waiting list when prompted during registration, and if any spaces open up we will contact families in the order they are listed on the waiting list.

If you want to get healthy, have fun and improve your tennis game, Live Ball Action Drill & Play is the perfect choice. The program incorporates high energy tennis drills and games like Doubles King of Court, 105, Murder, 31 and other favorites that will help you burn fat and build muscle while working on various tennis skills. Live Ball Action burns between 500-800 calories per hour.
 
6:30 PM - 8:00 PM    Tennis Apprentice Level II Advanced Beginner/Low Intermediate - Tennis Apprentice Advanced Beginner- Low Intermediate - Wednesday
One hour of fun-filled instruction, drills & games followed by 1/2 hour of supervised play. Perfect for players that are beyond the beginner stage but not quite ready for full blown match play.

Tennis Apprentice is a 4 week, fun-filled program designed to get beginner and advanced beginner participants playing actual "tennis".  Early emphasis is on the ability "to rally" and control the ball rather than stroke technique.  The program incorporates use of low compression balls and 60 foot courts in certain drills to speed the process along.  We will make you a tennis player in no time!!!
